Title: Parent Patrol App Concept:The concept for this piece was to create a working anti-bullying app for parents to use in the case of their child being bullied, or vice versa. The app monitors social media accounts, and sends alerts if anything seems to be going sour, based on pre-set keywords that can also be customized to fit any situation. Title: Something Wicked Music Festival Flyer
Concept: The concept for this piece was to create an informational brochure/flyer for Something Wicked, an Electronic Dance Music festival in Houston, TX. The festival is Halloween themed, which caused me to go for a very simple color palette of black, blue, white, and a hint of orange. I was going for a classy, yet spooky, mysterious and ghoulish feel to accentuate the Halloween theme and grandeur of the festival as a whole. Title: Nile Crocodile Science Booklet
Concept: The concept for this piece was to organize text and photos together into one layout for a science booklet focusing on a specific animal. Since the Crocodile was chosen, I wanted to go with an earthy color palette, mostly browns with some hints of green. I wanted the look to be professional, but at the same time still have the ability to grab a younger child’s attention so they’re interested enough to read and learn about this animal. Title: Traditional Camera vs. Smartphones
Concept: The concept for this project was to illuminate the effects smartphone cameras have had on the digital camera industry since their release in 2007. Sales of traditional cameras have plummeted since the smartphone came out due to its ever-evolving camera capabilities. While traditional camera sales decline, smartphones continue to rise in sales and drop in price, putting more pressure on the traditional camera models. Title: Hell’s Half Mile 2017 Commercial
Concept: The concept was to create a 60 second commercial highlighting the main aspects of the Hell’s Half Mile Film & Music Festival as part of an advertising campaign for the 2017 year. The music involved in the piece is from one of the bands that had performed the previous year, and clips from past movies were used as well. I also wanted to utilize some of my animation skills at the end to include moving text, and illustrations. Description:60 sec. Title: Bludgeoned to Death: Kinetic Typography Concept: My original concept was to translate the audio into a visible form through animation that captured the anger and intensity behind this song. By using specific vocal cues, and breakdowns throughout the piece, it allowed me to really accentuate these properties. Timing, font choice, and colors were three main aspects I paid attention to in order to really bring the audio to life.
